Privacy and safety
You decide who sees your profile and workouts. Here are the privacy settings and how to block someone or report content.
Private profile
In Settings → Profile privacy, turn on “Private profile”. Only your followers then see your content, and you approve every new follower. Everyone else sees just your profile header, and your profile disappears from search, the directory and the public page.
A fan profile is always private. An athlete with an active Subs Zone can’t switch to a private profile.
Who sees my workouts?
In Settings → Activities, choose who sees a new activity (Public by default) and, separately, seven kinds of data: heart rate, map, pace, power, calories, cadence and elevation. You can change a single workout when editing it.
The levels are: Only me, Subs only, Followers and Public.
Who sees my goals, races and trophies?
In Settings → Profile privacy → “Content visibility”, choose who sees the sections of your profile: goals, upcoming races, trophies and records, and followed teams — only you, subscribers, followers or everyone.
Search and the athlete directory
The “Appear in search” switch in Settings → Profile privacy decides whether others can find you in the app. Only with it on do you also appear in the athlete directory on athspace.com and in web search engines.
Blocking
On someone’s profile, open the menu and choose “Block”. A block covers the whole account with all its profiles and works both ways: you don’t see each other and can’t contact each other. The other person isn’t notified.
Unblock in Settings → Blocks. Follows and Zone access don’t come back on their own.
Reporting content
On a post, comment or event, choose “Report” and give a reason. Reports are confidential, and the reported content disappears from your view right away. The ath·space team reviews every report and lets you know the decision.
What happens if someone breaks the rules?
From the lightest: a warning, a publishing block for 7 or 30 days, an account suspension for 7 or 30 days, and an account ban.
With a publishing block you can sign in, read, follow and give Sups, but you can’t post, comment, edit your profile or send invitations. Disagree with a decision? Write to us with the case number.
